Meet and Greet from 3:30-4:30 on April 22nd
for our incoming kindergarten students. We encourage you to come to meet your teacher, tour the school and even spend some time in the school garden.  Registration is open for next year, please see the Online Registration area of this page for more information.
Laurel Elementary:

2021-22 Kindergarten Families:
We are excited to share that Laurel Elementary will be holding a virtual Kindergarten Kickoff from 4:00-5:00 on May 19th. In addition, we will also be hosting an in-person "Meet and Greet" in mid August
KITS Interest Form - KITS Formulario de Interés
The KITS (Kids in Transition to School) program will be offered for FREE and IN PERSON to incoming Laurel and Territorial kindergartners and will be held at Laurel Elementary School in Summer 2021. More information and Interest Form can be found HERE.

**Early Release Days (Schedule for 2021-22: TBD)

2020-2021 Early Release Information To allow for additional staff training, all Wednesdays in the month of September will be non-student  days. Beginning October 7th, for at least the first trimester, there will be a 2.5 hour Early Release.   **Depending on status of the state's pandemic, the dates may be changed or delayed.
We want to welcome you to the Junction City School District. Thank you very much for taking the time to register your child(ren) for the 2021-2022 year.
Students new to the district, can be enrolled through on-line registration. Please read through the below information. After completing and receiving approval (an email that your registration has been accepted) Please call the school you registered your student in to set up an appointment for remaining forms and teacher/schedule information.
Online registration is only for students who have not attended JCHS, Oaklea Middle, Laurel Elementary or Territorial Elementary Schools previously.  If your student has attended any of our schools, please call the school to register.

Parents should bring proof of address, their child's birth certificate and immunization records. (Birth Certificate and Immunization record can be brought in after registration if unable to locate.)  Kindergarten students must be five years old before September 1, 2021.

Families may not use addresses of relatives, friends, businesses or daycare to gain access into a school.

2020-21 Immunization Information

Shots are required by law for children in attendance at public and private schools, preschools, child care facilities, and Head Start programs in Oregon. Nearly every place that provides care for a child outside the home requires shots or a medical or nonmedical exemption to stay enrolled.

Student Inter-District Transfers

Notice: Transfer of Openings Notice

Even though there are no openings at this time, families interested in applying for a transfer for the 2020-21 school year can fill out the Inter-District Transfer Application and submit it to Stephanie White in the district office for processing. Please email swhite@junctioncity.k12.or.us with any questions.

Student Transfers: If you live outside the Junction City School District, as a non-resident, your student may apply to attend one of our schools by completing a Student Transfer Application during the month of March.

Openings available are declared by school and grade level, and priority is given to non-resident students who are currently on an approved Inter-District Transfer. Applications received after March 31st, will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis.

Interested non-resident students must fill out the Junction City School District Student Transfer Application form (The form is available from the websites the beginning of March.) Completed forms are submitted to the Junction City School District office by deadline date noted on the form. Accepted applicants are notified the beginning of May.

New requests will be approved from District A to District B only if there is available space at the requested school, the request falls within the number District A has declared to accept, and the number District B has declared to release.

Students in DHS Foster Care:  ORS 339.133 For students in DHS Child Welfare care and custody, the student will continue to attend the school district/school of origin. It is only with a Best Interest Finding, made by the Juvenile Court, that foster students will transition from the school district/school of origin to the school district where the foster home is located.
