K-12 Learning

At Junction City, we are committed to providing a well-rounded, high-quality education that prepares all students for success.  We believe in an inclusive, student-centered approach that supports different learning styles and abilities, equipping students with the skills and knowledge they need to thrive in school and beyond.

District Goal: All students will learn from an aligned curriculum that is relevant, rigorous, and engaging.

Every year, the school district is responsible for selecting educational curriculum for K-12 students. This process follows a rotating cycle, with a different subject being adopted each year. The state plays a crucial role in this process by forming a committee to evaluate curricula from various publishers. Using a scoring rubric, the committee assesses whether the instructional materials meet the criteria set by the State Board for high-quality education. Based on these evaluations, the state approves a list of recommended curricula. Each district then selects from this approved list.

In Junction City School District, each year a curriculum adoption team is formed to review the state-approved materials, review digital materials, examine curriculum samples, and engage with publishers. After thorough consideration, the team makes a recommendation to the superintendent for adoption. This team also supports and advises on implementation planning.

The curriculum is designed in accordance with state educational standards.
