K-5 Social Studies Curriculum

McGraw Hill Wonders and Impact Social Studies

The state social studies adoption cycle is taking place during the 2025–2026 school year, with implementation expected in fall 2026. Due to budget reductions, our district chose to postpone participation in this adoption cycle, a decision approved by the board in October 2025. In the meantime, K–5 teachers will continue using the previously approved materials: McGraw Hill Wonders and Impact Social Studies.

McGraw Hill Wonders Social Studies

McGraw Hill Wonders integrates social studies by anchoring literacy instruction in content-rich informational texts, using thematic "Essential Questions" to explore history and culture, and providing specialized, cross-curricular content. The program balances literature with social studies content to build background knowledge, vocabulary, and inquiry skills.

Impact Social Studies (Grades 4 & 5)

IMPACT Social Studies empowers your students to reflect on the past and impact the future by providing a flexible, accessible, blended learning experience. Customizable lessons and robust supports ensure you can teach social studies in the time you have while confidently meeting the needs of every learner in your classroom.
