Children ages 5 to 11 will receive one-third of the adult dose of the Pfizer vaccine using smaller needles designed for children. To become fully vaccinated, the child will need a second shot of the Pfizer vaccine three weeks after their first shot.

The vaccine is free. No health insurance is required and is available regardless of immigration status.

As with any shot, please plan to stay for 15 minutes after to monitor for any immediate reaction.
- When you are fully vaccinated (2 weeks after your second dose) and you do not have symptoms, you DO NOT NEED TO QUARANTINE AFTER AN EXPOSURE TO SOMEONE WITH COVID-19.

The FDA and the CDC Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices recommends children ages 5 through 11 years to receive a Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine. Before recommending COVID-19 vaccination for children, scientists conducted clinical trials. The FDA gave the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine emergency authorization to use in children ages 5-15 years old and full approval to use in people ages 16 years and older.
