Second Step: A Violence Prevention Curriculum

All classrooms at Laurel are using the Second Step curriculum this year. This program helps children think about, develop, and practice positive social skills. Research shows us that children who learn and use these skills are more likely to get along with others and do better in school. Families play a crucial role in the success of the Second Step program. Below are links to letters to families explaining the skills your child is learning and practicing, as well as what you can do to help at home. Check back regularly, as more letters will be added as the year goes on.
